Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. CBS Channel 2 news is the best local news in Chicago. ABC Channel 7 went crazy woke propaganda at some point last year, it’s all ‘look at the happy children getting their vaccine shots’ and ‘here is how Joe Biden will end the pandemic’. They focus so little on local news and half the newscast is some Republicans are Bad In Washington at 10:04 p.m. Channel 2’s news story about the PPP fraud in Markham was great.
