Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
Duckworth had a rough day. She hit all the talking points, stricter gun laws . Check that box. Ukraine-Russia. Check that box. Blah, Blah, Blah. Nothing changes. Zero depth
I would like to see Duckworth give her explanation for the many stories on CWB Chicago where felons not in custody have murdered people. Maybe she can explain the logic of Chicago criminal justice directly to the mother of a dead victim. In fact, there are so many victims, maybe she could do it at a town hall only attended by these mothers.
Tammy is not very bright. She can’t explain anything.
Exactly. You would think someone who is ex-Army would know what an assault weapon is.
Crime Enabling Fraud Senator Duckworth Blames Lack Of Gun Laws — Even Though Chicago And Illinois Have The Strongest Gun Laws In US, But Soft On Crime Democrats Won’t Enforce Them
They suck theyll prob give the black shooter 10 years house arrest lol
“Symbolism over substance” – all they’ve got.
How about arresting and charging the perp who did the shooting? It’s been three days now, there were cameras and witnesses everywhere, they’ve located a car and people of interest…
And nothing, nothing at all…
Duckworthless is a clown of major proportions. Blaming the dreaded “assault rifle” when that firearm wasnt involved. Her chance to make some sort of a statement when she has done or accomplished nothing during her Senate tenure. Just what the world needs, another unenforced, useless gun law to add to the list of thousands of gun laws already on the books. State Attorney Kim Foxx doesnt bother to prosecute now so lets add more junk to the law books. Tammy, go away.
I had great hopes for Ms. Duckworth; unfortunately she’s turned out to be just another political hack.
She of all people should be defending second amendment rights.
The First Amendment is being wiped out by censoring of tech giants and the mob labelling anything that does agree with the current narrative as ‘hate speech.’
The assault on the Second Amendment continues –
Too bad the Iraqi insurgents didn’t have better aim
More hate from the knuckle dragging commenters. Although not surprising.
Kirk in 2010 had 1,778,698 votes to Giannoulias 1,719,478…a close race with a total of 3,704,473 votes cast in a mid-term year. But in 2016, a presidential election year, 5,491,878 people showed up to vote, which was 1,787,405 more than 2010, a whopping 48% higher turnout in 2016 vs. 2010. 1,293,462 of those 1,787,405 ‘new’ voters voted for the Democrat party, and only 465,214 of them voted for Republicans (roughly 28,729 of the new voters voted for 3rd parties). This seems to happen a lot when a Republican is elected in IL. They win one term and the following re-election… Read more »
From the pension themed screen-name, I am guessing that you are the ghost of CTU Boss Karen Lewis’ twat
I’m not sure why you had high hopes for this woman! She said nothing during her campaign to give anyone hope.
I thank her for her service and sacrifice, but since she has entered politics she has helped no one but herself. She truly is a hack. Lucky for us she is a hack who has done nothing but run her mouth and collect her paycheck as well as campaign contributions.
She should have looked to Senators Bob Dole (R), Max Cleland (?) and Daniel Inouye (D) as stellar examples of wounded Vets in public service to inspire her and she might have done something worthwhile. Alas, she didn’t, and has accomplished nothing.
