Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. I hope they had the same conversation with “prosecutors” who cherry pick what laws “they deem” appropriate to prosecute…
So typical of democrats! I heard the ban groups were outnumbered 2 to one at the DuPage County hearing. They were outnumbered 2 to 1 on the witness slips for the original bill, too. They had to ram the bill through under an insurance title without adequate readings. Not only that, but they’ve got 90 something sheriffs rejecting this out of roughly 100, and they’re pushing a “winning” narrative. LOL
But they did win. The good guys are playing defense here. Every other state around us is loosening gun laws. IA, KY, IN and TN, our neighbor states, are all constitutional carry. IL is going the other direction.
As are the residents of IL.
