Durbin thwarts GOP effort to pass bill detaining illegal immigrants charged with violent crime – FOX News

The bill would require Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to take into custody illegal immigrants who are arrested and charged with causing the death or serious injury of another. U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said the bill would detain victims of trafficking or domestic abuse who were charged with crimes. According to him, the bill would "deprive immigrants of the due process that everyone is afforded."

Not true. Pick up a book and learn something. Going through life as a complete idiot is no way to live. Typical pointy wire ignorant comment.

Doubtful – farmers are smart and savvy.

If you ate today, thank a farmer for growing food and truck drivers for delivering it to a grocery store near you.

As evidenced by offenders not being tried for several years after the crime due to continuances, motions, pre- trail motions, exculpatory evidence and the last refuge of a scoundrel, firing council and acting as one’s own attorney. Contrary to what some out in the sticks say, offenders in IL have an exhausting array of options to drag an open and shut case out way, way too long, usually at taxpayers expense.

That is not so. The Supreme Court has ruled that due process applies to all PERSONS not just citizens. The U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly held that this includes all persons present within U.S. jurisdiction, whether that presence is legal or not.

That said, I don’t see how detaining them would deprive them of due process.

If my child was raped and murdered by an illegal alien i know who id have a very personal chat with. These psychopaths masquerading as politicians need to be treated like your worst enemy. Because they are.

Do Nothing Dick Durbin has blood on his hands once again. He’d rather put Americans at risk than detain illegal immigrants. It really is that simple. A worthless waste of space.

I get that they’re trying to stack the House of Representatives, not that I like it, but how big of an ass do you have to be to not kick out the criminals. This guy is a useless POS.

Because, they hate you, deplorable, and they prefer the criminal immigrant as their fellow citizen rather than you. This is not hyperbole, they say it out loud, all of the time. You just have to listen to your crazy wine aunt Marlene, she will tell you exactly what she would do to Trump supporters if she were in charge, and it would end with tens of millions dead, because she believes it would make the world a better place.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
