Editorial: Enough excuses, governor. The unemployment mess deserved your early attention. – Chicago Tribune

The emails continue to pour in. Thousands of workers furloughed or laid off due to COVID-19 shutdowns still have not received unemployment help from the state of Illinois, to which they are entitled.

One of the biggest voters for Pritzker are the downstaters that are too lazy to get out and vote.
Like it or not…that’s the way it is.

Pritzker/Madigan don’t give a hoot about unemployed Illinoisians unless it is their beloved public sector stooges: AFSCME, SEIU, IFT and CTU. Those criminal co-conspirators are all still collecting a paycheck and most of them are still sitting at home collecting their pay. So why should Pritzker/Madigan care about those schub unemployed taxpayers?

I suggest the Legislature pass a law funding unemployment checks from Prickster’s trust fund and his covid business profits, UNTIL he gets IDES and state finances in order. Seems reasonable compared to his $51M personally given to pro-Progressive Tax PR.

Pritzker and Chicago Democrats like to blame President Trump for less than perfection on the Chinese virus response, but after months Pritzker can’t even get his own unemployment department to function! Pritzker did get his companies involved in testing right away though.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
