A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Why shouldn’t the legislators indulge themselves and do as they dad gum please? They are accountable to no one. The governor is a stooge and signs any bill the Democratic leaders put in front of him and the remaining rump of the press fawns on the legislative leaders as it always has. The rank and file legislators must do the leaders’ bidding due to the fundraising limitations on them setup by campaign pseudo reform laws that exempted the leaders’ funds from donation limits placed on their followers.
