Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Pols like these two and the clownish Slaughter should be made to wear outsized shoes, car pool crammed 6 into a Mini Cooper and wear a large red nose that honks when squeezed, once for yes, twice for no when voting on anything. It would be better than having to suffer their ridiculous nonsense.
One of my favorite bands, Rush, had a hit song called “Freewill”. A passage in it stated,
“If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”.
Looks like these Dems are against “Freewill”…
