"It’s true that some liquor stores can create a nuisance for neighbors and foster crime. But that’s no reason to penalize those that generate no problems. And what’s the logic of simultaneously allowing bars and restaurants to sell takeout cocktails after 10 p.m., as the bill in Springfield would allow?"
