Editorial: Readers’ thoughts on violent crime, and hope for the future – Chicago Tribune*

"In an editorial last week, we turned the focus away from the endless policy debates that nibble at answers, and instead cast a spotlight on a group that rarely gets discussed in the dialogue over violence — parents...Readers responded with a variety of viewpoints."

Comments posted on Trib article were usual SJW blather: “need more equity”, “need more jobs”, “need more affordable housing”. Blah, blah, blah. Zero demand for accountability. Zero notice that common civility is no longer expected from young POC folks. Not one comment stated fact: here in Chicago, lawlessness is tolerated, is enabled, is excused, while law-abiding folks suffer for it, all in name of “BLM-equity-protest”.

Hmmm….Lori is denying there is any tentative agreement with FOP! It appears FOP John let the cat out of the bag before Lori and friends could think up a story why she got nothing. The winds have shifted, the city is in flames and whatever Lori was trying to implement has exploded in her face. I wonder if Lori is blessing going hands on! I wonder if any of Lori’s demands will move? Ever! Lori will publicly slap JC in the press but it’s nothing but theatre. Lori got pantsed worse than Richie at the Olympics.

Of course, the tribune’s chosen reader comments are all progressive lefties who want to double down on bad ideas. One reader suggested that additional policing has been tried for decades and gotten us nowhere. Uh, what about the additional policing since the height of the crack epidemic in the 1990’s until last year, when crime and murders dropped significantly? Crime went up this year as police have been less proactive and don’t care to do their jobs anymore. The ignorance of these fools voting in astounding.
