Editorial: The Tort Bar’s Legal Double Dipping – Wall Street Journal

"The Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct say a lawyer who gets confidential information while working as a public officer 'may not represent a private client whose interests are adverse to that person.' That would seem to apply directly to Mr. Raoul’s lawyers-for-hire, and this should be a subject for the state bar."

Here in downstate what they couldn’t gerrymander they split up into judicial sub circuits to try to get Democrat Judges for the trial lawyer set. Gotta keep the money rolling in for the Democrat trial lawyers who then contribute to the Judicial campaign funds and believe me…taxes are super high here too. It’s truly a system set up for the party and interestingly a lot of people think it is set up for them even though the plaintiffs are scattered across the nation with a very big chunk of the settlements going to the trial lawyer/judge system.

To be disciplined by the State bar? Is this a joke. The ARDC is a subsidiary of the Ill Supreme Ct., which is now majority Democrat– elected Democrats by the way. Does anyone really think the review of such matters is “by the book”? Gimme a break!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
