Are you telling us that government now needs to find money to help pay a substantial slice of the property taxes that are meant to … well … fund the government? The irony couldn’t be richer. But that’s where we are in Illinois ..."
Heaven forbid low income people have to pay high property taxes. Yet it is these same people who line up to vote for every assistance program out there that raises everyone’s property taxes for their benefit. So, despite their being on the receiving end of the programs, it is unfair to make them pay their “fair share” making the rest of the population paying twice as much as they should? Seems like a back door attempt to make property taxes progressive . i.e. based on income and not property values. Another way to pander to the democrat base and stick it to homeowners that work for a living. There is no way to defend yourselves against this crap. The manipulate the system any way that suits them regardless of how bad it hurts you. I challenge any of you to come up with a realistic way of combatting this type of garbage. They don’t want Middle class homeowners or any one else with a modicum of intelligence or self respect. They do however want their money.
The Country, as a whole, has been destroying the Middle Class for decades. That is what Communism is.
Kinda like inflation causes more inflation.
