Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Education in Chicago. A) A Joke B) Non existent C) At an all time low
D) ALL OF THE ABOVE
CTU is a political activist group, and should be designated as such. CTU does not care about students or education. They care about politics and power.
Nope. CTU is a union for Chicago teachers that also gets involved in politics. Perfectly legal and acceptable according to Illinois law and the Illinois Constitution.
You write the same thing everyday. You do realize it’s never going to happen. I’ll try to remind you because you seem to be quite slow.
CTU = Mafia extorting the honest hard-working taxpayers.
Nope. CTU=labor union that is organizes and uses its collective strength to negotiate for better pay and benefits. They do this through collective bargaining as well as strengthening those rights in the political arena. If the hard working taxpayers don’t want to pay the rate the teachers are asking, they are welcome to elect a school board that will negotiate for austerity.
It’s not extortion to withhold your labor for someone that won’t pay you the desired rate. You are not entitled to their labor.
Do you really believe this crap? Or is it just a conditioned response?
It’s the truth. Everything I’ve wrote is the truth. It has nothing to do with “defending” the CTU and everything to do with the law.
You are not entitled to their labor – TRUE
It’s not extortion to refuse to work for less money – TRUE
CTU is a labor organization that also engages in political activities to strengthen their position – TRUE
If taxpayers believe CTU members are overpaid, they can elect a school board that promises austerity – TRUE
You don’t like the CTU. That’s fine. Many people don’t. None of those feeling change the facts.
Even the sainted Liberal President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, was Against Public Employee Unions. Thanks for helping to give credence to his comment..
That’s clever. You inserted a judgment of value and motive in the middle of your list and assigned it the same status as your other points:
CTU is a labor organization that also engages in political activities to strengthen their position – TRUE
