A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Fitting tribute to a fading pop-star president.
I was going to write something cynical like:
A quick design change idea!–glue a bunch of shag carpet over the whole thing, add a couple big scrap metal hoops at the top and rename the Carpetbagger Center, for Chicago’s head carpetbagger…A temple for CTU/Brandon & crew to $$$worship$$$ while the Black folks Berry “community organized” for are priced out along with the rest of us chumbalones.
……but then decided that was a bit over the TOP!!!
It is a monument to what government is…Take down Christopher Columbus…build this thing. Just leave the trees and grass there as they were…this is an eye-sore.
Probably as structurally sound as a condo in Surfside Florida.

The bigger issue is not how it looks but where it is . . . in a lakefront park. That was supposed to be prohibited. Alas, the center supporters prevailed. It would have made sense to build it elsewhere on the South side close by, preserving the park space and rejuvenating perhaps a blighted block. too bad.
But immediately after completion of the tower, the supporters of this monstrosity promised to combine the Jackson Park Golf Course with the 9 hole course at the South Shore Cultural Center and lure a professional golf tournament to a world class venue on the lakefront. Things will be great! They promised! Be patient!
Dreary and they’re not done yet!
