Burke’s win reveals something extremely concerning about Chicago’s leadership. This bunch of incompetent mopes managed to F’ up the easiest ‘steal’ in primary history. Peckerwrinkle and crew couldn’t manage to steal this despite: record low voter turnout, ballot counting for two full weeks after the election, high number of mail-in and provisional ballots, low voter name recognition, and a hand-picked primary candidate. Peckerwrinkle and Harris needed only several hundred more votes to win AND THEY STILL SCREWED THIS UP. Peckerwrinkle likes to brag that she won her first election by 109 votes (ahem..) yet they bungled this one big time,… Read more »

When will Harris III start whipping out that racist card? How dare he allow Ed Burke’s distant relative to defeat him?

Big picture question, now with defeat of Harris and face plant on BCH, does this dampen in any way CTU getting $$100%$$ of the crazy they’re going to be demanding from Chicago or Illinois taxpayers?? or brando & the crew will just sign no questions asked $$equity hustle$$ contract making them highest paid teachers of any big school dist in nation with abysmal performance.

There are plenty of progressive tears being cried tonight. Not sure if it will result in any real improvement, but it temporarily halts the descent into total madness. I’m surprised it was allowed to happen. Pritzker may need to dig deep into that offshore wallet of his to ensure this kind of surprise doesn’t happen again.

Too much heat from many sources and the steal attempt was so obvious the machine gave in to the pressure. Close call for now but what other schemes are being planned.

The truth hurts so, so badly to the democrats who can’t stand to hear the truth. Buckets of liberal tears make me happy.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
