There are no laws for leftists. If a tax paying citizen of Illinois made a mistake to this level on their taxes, the state of Illinois would crucify them. But this guy…no, no, its a complicated law and he just made a $4M mistake…no biggie. Useless crooks. He is laughing at tax payers all the way to the bank.

Leftist demonstrating yet again how to hold hands and stand up against the rule of law.

Did anyone really think a sitting Illinois politician would have to pay a 9.8 million fine?

This is Illinois AF, as the kids say. Imprecisely written rule, probably purposely so, vagueness exploited, obfuscation injected, legal back and forth. Harmon likely ends up keeping the funds and/or returning some to donors as a “settlement”. Maybe a negotiated fine, cents on the dollar. He will sometime later retire with some of the cash to augment his pension.
