Energy experts concerned that Illinois’ move to clean energy may cause reliability issues – Center Square

“Indiana or Texas, they’re much faster at this,” said state Sen. Suzy Glowiak-Hilton. “We are in Illinois. It seems to be really slow, so I’m concerned about our ability to transition quickly.”

Here’s an article on EV’s. Around town for short commutes they may be OK but long trips become much longer.

Common sense would tell you EVs are useful for school buses, garbage trucks, newspaper & mail delivery or Airport shuttles.
However the monkeys in power don’t have common sense and instead push EVs in areas they are not viable and never will be like long distance transportation, commuting, or recreational vehicles.

EV’s are not really good for much as they are heavy, destructive to the environment and roadways not to mention totally cost prohibitive.

Good point! How many working class people can shoulder a $50K + vehicle?

Another way to implement Division, Entitlement & Intimidation! Screw the little guy!

Buy Generac stock – as Illinoisans wise up they’ll be looking to safeguard their power supply.

Illinois politicians are trying to fly the plane while they assemble it.

Think about it – what qualifications do politicians need to run for office? NONE – and the way we’re being governed is living proof.

Stupid chickens!

Agree-I’ve said this before. How many current and former politicians were/are certified financial planners/investment professionals/etc in any capacity yet they are responsible for a state budget of over $50B? In Rockford Sen. Steve Stadleman from Rockford was a news anchor. It seems like many have good intentions originally but end up in the Bernie Madoff school of investment advisors once they are down in Springfield. The only qualifications is they can speak from both sides of their mouths.
Speaking of chickens. What do you call a chicken that possesses your home? A Poultrygeist

Yep. Some pols hit the trifecta: greed, corruption, and no financial management skills. It’s no wonder cities, counties, and states run by such pols are in such bad shape financially. Becoming a pol is like becoming a parent: no qualifications required.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
