The effort included creating a lesson plan that the school gave to students about community organizing and a reflection for students to complete after the walkout Thursday morning.

Public opinion in Illinois toward U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is deeply divided and largely split along partisan and geographic lines. Recent polls and legislative actions as of early 2026 indicate a significant portion of the population—particularly in Chicago and among Democratic-leaning residents—opposes ICE’s presence and tactics.

I just read Lionel Shriver’s new book, A Better Life. It’s a novel, but it is a terrifying and accurate description of the insanity of liberal sanctuary city policies (and open borders in general). It’s only 300 pages, but it’s well worth reading.

Just curious. Can they spell ICE without a pre-printed Soros sign?

In my businesses, a resume reflecting a public school background is a disqualifier.

An opportunity for a Civics lesson. Were those children informed about how ICE was created? Do those children know that the current director of ICE was also the director during the Obama administration and was awarded for distinguished service? Or are these children simply misled? Peculiar way to teach children!

Hold the walks on Saturdays and really see who’s committed vs just another excuse to skip school

That’s right kids- walk and keep walking to the shore of Lake Michigan, and then walk some more. I’m sure the taxpayers would love to shed themselves of a few dozen progressive sheep that don’t learn anything at +/- 30K/ year a pop.

What a crock of shit. Teaching kids organizational skills my ass. Do teachers teach anymore or use something like this as an off day where they don’t have to plan class ?
