He should’ve gotten life in prison, just like he sentenced the rest of you Illinoisans to through his “legislative efforts”.

Too bad it isn’t a jail where if you drop the soap in the shower you’d feel the pain you put the people of Illinois through

Hello, Indiana!

But where? Vienna? Leavenworth? Or some country club from which he will surely be released after a reduced, token punishment is deemed fulfilled or he starts pleading poor health? All for show, people. I wonder if he’ll get the disgusting “ traditional 50% reduction in his sentence “ that is afforded murderers and rapists every day?

More of the same

No parole or possibility for early release in the federal system – just good time credits. He is in for most of his sentence unless he receives an executive pardon or commutation.

If his health fails – and that should not be wished on anyone – he could seek relief on merciful grounds. The attorney who works on those matters for the DOJ/BOP lives near me, and she relates conditions for mercy relief are very high.

I don’t cheer anyone’s misfortune but it is hard to argue against accountability here.

Sanity please

His sentence should have been one year for each year in the legislature, since he was corrupt the entire time.
He got off easy.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
