Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Imagine how cool it would be if you could run your household like so many of these schools and governmental entities in IL; i.e., not worry about overspending because someone else would always give you more money. In the case of the public school districts and governmental entities in IL, the “someone else” is the IL taxpayer, of course.
Socialists once again showing their wizardry with the tax payers money.
Very simple solution. The liberal filth that inhabit that school district just need to vote to double or triple taxes. Being the great libfilth that they are, they should all volunteer to double or triple their taxes. Let’s see who steps up.
why would the “public” show up… our kids were there from 82 96 and any time someone objected to the spending you all played the race card, we have to end the Gap, more money poured into failing academic policies…sorry not sorry about you current problems
Perhaps they should redirect some of their reparations to the schools!
Amen brother. The City just flushed $5 million down the drain on reparations so a couple of dozen folks could re-do their bathrooms and rec rooms, but thousands of students– and some very needy special ed kids– will get short changed once again. Maybe the State should come in and take over that district.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
