Expired food, infections, infestations reported at Chicago police stations serving as makeshift shelters for immigrants – WBEZ (Chicago)

Neislymar Gonzalez’s 2 children, a daughter 5 years old and a son 4 years old, at the Central District police station in Chicago. Chicago’s response to a growing immigrant crisis has turned police stations into makeshift shelters for asylum seekers.FOP President John Catanzara said bed bugs have been “a consistent issue," and that there has been a lice problem at the Near West District and cases of chicken pox at the Shakespeare District. Boxes of meal rations that were sent to the Gresham District last week had expired in September 2020. But a City Hall source said hospitals, hotels and short-term rentals have all declined to take in the asylum seekers because they view the crisis as a public health matter.

Everyone who voted for Biden should be REQUIRED to take in at least one illegal alien – after all, they helped create this chaos.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
