Gov. JB Pritzker signed the Funeral and Burial Assistance Act into law Tuesday. Qualifying families will be able to receive up to $10,000 in assistance - an amount slightly above the national average cost of funeral and burial services - paid directly to funeral and cemetery establishments.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
