Two lawsuits – one by Republican legislative leaders and another by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, or MALDEF - have been consolidated and assigned to a three-judge panel, as is required under federal law whenever a suit challenges the constitutionality of a redistricting plan.
There isn’t a judge in the state concerned with constitutionality of anything. If there were any, they would be talking about #1, #2, and IL’s balanced budget amendment. Now, we are supposed to believe these “judges” are concerned about who’s vote is counted with who.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
