Nothing the State of Illinois government has done in the past 2 or 3 decades has been to benefit the average tax payer. Nothing. If I wrong, please help me understand, but I don’t see it. I suspect he may have a problem here and will be forced to “retire”, “resign”, “quit”. But that just provides him with his $130,000 annual state pension. If the Feds have him and prosecute him and find him guilty, he needs to lose his pension. But ya know, somehow in back of my mind, knowing how the average tax payer is treated in Illinois…… Read more »

What are the odds for that piece of trash ever spending a night in jail? He gives lizards a bad name.

I am very surprised there is nobody able to see that whichever Black Lives Matter supported succeeds Madigan will make this state wish for the glory days of Madigan. Of course he’s corrupt, but please please please look at the alternatives. Not that he shouldn’t be prosecuted but please don’t be surprised when things get worse, not better, when Madigan is replaced.

It’s not like the prosecution of Madigan will result in a 1994 style Republican Revolution in Illinois. It will result in people like Lori Lightfoot and the Third World getting more power in Illinois.

Bet Mike is thinking a Dem president, working with Durbin, in just a few months, will force the US Attorney and other agencies to stand down.

Hope this is finally the start tho, along with Lori Lightfoot’s election, to (really) clean up this cesspool of corruption. Also, maybe the “mid-west nice”, non-public union taxpayers, including those in south and west sides of Chicago, will finally do something (i.e. “act up”) about these gangsters.

#1 taxes; #50 financial condition; #1 corruption; #1 refugees fleeing the state….called “prima facie”

Remember, a promise is not a promise, in the absence of honest dealings.

Why not offer Johnny Bills a get out of jail free card if he flips? He tried to earlier but the Obama appointed U.S. Attorney would have nothing to do with it. If Bills starts talking this thing could be RICO’d in nothing flat and the whole “Bipartisan Political Combine” as Kass likes to call it, could be taken down in one fell swoop.

So, I have little patience when it comes to Madigan I despise this individual just one statement only, GOP you better get off your asses now and make a huge huge appearance now is your time and chance to revive your party in Illinois

Dying in prison wouldn’t be enough if a penalty for the damage Madigan has done the State of Illinois. Drawn and quartered, fed to rats, burned at the stake would be 3 more fitting punishments.

Nothing will happen to Madigan. The FBI is a political operative for the democratic party, that has been proven over and over. This is all a facade, the feds will not go after one of their own, the Illinois machine is safe. Sure a few low levels may get prosecuted, but not anyone at the top. The FBI is every bit as corrupt as Madigan. Commonwealth Edison was merely playing by the “rules” in Illinois, public utilities in Illinois know they have to pay the people who regulate the crap out of them, or life will be hard.

I tend to disagree. This is a “Changing of the guard”. The wheels were set in motion long before the current administration. These old school pol’s were in the way.

RINO Lausch is too much a friend of Lori to do an adequate prosecution, he’s a fake. Taking way too long. Madigan will never serve.

Why are you ignoring FBI operations Greylord, Operation Silver ShovelIncubator, Lantern, Operation Gambat, and Safebet.

If Madigan goes down (I will believe it when I see it) will he take Pritzker with him? I think so.
PS: $200M for starters!? Wow!

So if you’re JB Pritzker, you DON’T call on the guy to resign? How can you not? You’re trying to get a graduated tax passed … you think IL voters are going to vote for handing more money to the state, when every ad run against the proposal will have Madigan’s photo in it?

Democrat rule #1. Never admit you’re wrong or have been caught doing a wrong. Particularly when you have the corrupt/complicit media on your side.

Exhibit 1 – Russiagate scam
Exhibit 2 – Mueller probe scam
Exhibit 3 – Obama admin scandal (pick one)
Exhibit 4 – Pritzker potty scandal
Exhibit 5 – VA Gov. blackface Northam
Exhibit 6 – VA Lt. Gov accused rapist Fairfax
Exhibit ….

Democrat rule #2. See rule #1

I don’t see how ‘Public Official A’ dodges this – Pretty good law enforcement work it seems to me. I can’t get over the $200M – that to me indicates the hook is sunk. There could more dominoes for sure – this could be one of the biggest corruption breakups ever. Staggering.

You will have to pry power away from this guy’s cold, dead, hands. He ain’t resigning. Mark it.

I think you are right. Most politicians, when identified in a federal bribery scheme, have the decency to step down. Not in Illinois which is sad for the Land of Lincoln. This guy will have to be dragged out in handcuffs and I hope the AG makes a scene of it. My only question is where is the IL GOP? It’s a do nothing party. When when they step up in file articles of impeachment? The Speaker of the House was identified in a decades long bribery scheme! What will it take for them to do something, anything. They are… Read more »

Another one bits the dust another one gone this song by queen will never die in Illinois, like trump said time to drain the swamp. Springfield and Governor chuckles call for this mans resignation NOW.

ConcernedExpat

Agreed. Every person of the US is assumed innocent until proven guilty but given charges leveled here of a conspiracy of bribery, he should no longer be in any position to steer decisions for the people of Illinois. Resign now !

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
