Feds weigh in on lawsuit challenging how Illinois maintains voter registration rolls – Capitol News IL

The lawsuit challenges the state’s practice of delegating to local election officials the responsibility of conducting regular maintenance of voter registration rolls, including the task of purging people from the rolls when they die or move out of the jurisdiction. Under the National Voter Registration Act, the suit argues, the state is responsible for carrying out that function.

The Democrats don’t want voter rolls cleaned up. They could implement policies like WI has. But they wouldn’t be able to cheat like they do. At the very least, mail in ballots should be postmarked 1 week prior to the election. That way Democrats could stuff the ballot boxes when the see the results coming in.

I’m interested in your example of sending in mail in ballots one week prior to the election. What is wrong with the being postmarked by Election Day? Why would there be different rules for a home bound individual or an active military member as long as their signatures match and they are legally registered.
