Officials said the studio will create up to 12,000 quality, high-paying jobs and breathe new life into small businesses in the area.

This is very cool. It kind of reminds me of how Lucy and Desi Arnez (Lucille Ball) decided to go off and form DesiLu Studios giving us countless great old TV shows like Andy Griffith, Dick van Dyke, etc. I only have to wonder why they picked Chicago? Its central location maybe? I wish them success, Columbia college can start cranking out sound engineers and cinematographers to intern there, etc. Such facilities can also double as recording studios for bands to rent out.

The only glaring downside is location. It’s in the graveyard of Chicago.
