Brando seems intent on creating a spectacle, no matter the negative impacts, simply to fulfill his destiny as a disruptor. The bigger the better in his view. If he isn’t careful he’ll mess up JB’s planned presidential run.

It seems Leftists Democrats are like ‘Hey, we are going BK so may as well max out all the credit cards and pay as few bills as possible’. Anyone buying Chicago’s debt better be getting junk rates. Vendors should have Chicago on a cash basis only.

And going up, up and away every year. The only way out of this debt hole is Bankruptcy.

Half of Chicago citizens don’t have $400 in their bank account until next paycheck, and certainly not $40,600. They better make each rich pay for several dozen poor people. Make it a one time special assessment on any home over $1,000,000 has a $500,000 special service area tax bill. The rich will find a way to pay it because they’ll have to. And if they don’t, the city will take the property through a tax sale. BAM. Chicago’s debt problem SOLVED.

Most Chicago voters operate on basis of “let the rich guys pay higher taxes” as the inevitable fix. These stupid voters don’t realize that the rich guys can easily move out of state, declare residency in a lower-tax state in a lower-tax city. Most of the millionaires in my business-sector still conduct business in Chicago, but from safe distances a plane-ride away from Chicago and Illinois.

They’re not paying higher taxes, they’re paying their “fair share”. The left avoids unambiguous wording in favor of generalities that can mean anything they want. The Sun Times and Tribune play along with this game.
