FOID card is and has been a waste of time and money. Has it prevented one crime? No. Has it prevented persons who are not eligible to own or possess a firearm (like convicted felons)? No. Also, someone should check the court records in Cook County to see how many times the states attorney actually prosecuted someone for violating the FOID law. Rarely, unless you are some chump white guy who inherited grandpa’s 100 yr old shotgun and didnt get a FOID card.
