Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Supposedly, there were 15 arrests for reckless conduct, etc. How many were released with no bail? How many are going to be prosecuted by Kim Foxx? History says none. So what kind of deterrence to prevent these weekend acts of violence and destruction?
And just who is going to enforce this curfew?
Brandon Johnson on the wilding riots: “However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
If this first warm weekend is any indication, it’s gonna be a very rough summer in Chicago.
Like I said in other posts, before this comment by Brandon, it’s a good ole’ boys clubs for the black youths, and there’s no political will to do anything about it. And the more non-black people complain about the wildlings, the more they will circle the wagons around this anti-social behavior.
