For a second time, Cook County commissioners consider a resolution targeting policing, jail funding: ‘We have to say out loud that Black lives matter’ – Chicago Tribune*
The nonbinding proposal has no legal weight behind it but it would encapsulate some county officials’ outward stance against what they see as increasingly bloated law enforcement budgets that do not represent the values of marginalized constituents.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
How about having some balls and saying All lives matter?
But not the 45 shot every weekend by black on black crime. Those lives do not matter!
Those 45 shot represent street justice. The only kind of justice that matters because it doesn’t involve white people.
