"The problems that we see in Chicago are spilling over into a beautiful community like Forest Park and they don't have the resources to deal with it," said state Rep. LaShawn Ford.

My kids tell me they see homeless guys smoking crack in plain view right outside the train station when they’re not panhandling. Im old and my days of riding L downtown are long past…i did that for many years

Another outrageous situation with cta and homeless, at least in my nw side neighborhood, is that any bus shelter next to prime panhandling intersection has been taken over as a makeshift homeless shelter w people waiting for bus standing outside shelter. A couple bus shelters in my hood have been occupied year round for well over a year. How those homeless survive the winter is beyond me but they do

We need help addressing some of the mental health challenges,” Hoskins said…” This is EXACTLY what is happening now in Evanston. Vagrants are pouring up here via the Purple Line from the city, bringing their panhandling, drug use, and generally disruptive behaviors to downtown and adjacent areas. Downtown Evanston (already half – empty) is increasingly unsafe.
