Former ComEd Lobbyist John Hooker Gets 18 Months in Prison for Role in Madigan Bribery Scheme – WTTW (Chicago)

U.S. District Judge Manish Shah said Hooker wasn’t simply engaged in recordkeeping errors. “Hiding transactions is how corruption succeeds and festers,” Shah said in handing down the sentence. “Refusing to say ‘No, this is not how legislation should be done’ … that caused the state government to fail to live up to its promise to the people.” Hooker was also ordered to pay a fine of $500,000 as part of his sentence.

So, is anything going to change for the better for Illinois residents after ComEd execs and IL pols go to jail? I know the weather has been hotter than usual, but did you check your latest ComEd bill?

Yup and my Nicor bill $6.20 in natural gas usage, $24.00 delivery charge, rest in illegal taxes for $31.34 total in July, summer time a gas bill like this and Nicor wants a rate increase such B.S. in this crooked state and the ICC has no balls to say no. Pritzker and his cronies in Springfield are going to let utilities raise rates so that it becomes unacceptable and unaffordable for almost all of us just to promote and force his Clean Energy agenda.
