Former ICE official: Sanctuary cities pose an unacceptable risk to public safety – Chicago Tribune*

"Chicago, for example, must reexamine its stance. Sanctuary policies may aim to secure a sense of belonging for immigrant communities, but they ultimately fail these communities and the broader public. Policies must prioritize protecting all people from harm, regardless of their immigration status."

Sanctuary policies enable criminals. And Chicago is a magnet for thieves, drug dealers, and murderers.
My neighbor came here LEGALLY from Venezuela. She followed all the rules and she favors LEGAL immigration also.
Chicago’s corrupt, far-left politicians have no interest in protecting law-abiding citizens/taxpayers. The mayor and the governor have only contempt for crime victims.

Just read that Oak Park’s mayor, on very short notice, called a rally early this week to breathlessly reiterate Oak Park’s unbending commitment to DEI and to soothe “trauma” caused by the Trump admin.. She is also running for reelection, this seems like an 8th grade student government political stunt.

The property taxes in Oak Park are insane. Also, there are too many carjackings there as well.
