Former Illinois Secretary of State official accused of fraud and theft totaling $350,000 – Center Square

Candace Faye Wanzo of Centralia was hired as a private secretary in 1999, shortly after Secretary of State Jesse White was elected. That’s after Wanzo pleaded guilty in 1991 to stealing more than a quarter million dollars from Southern Illinois University.

How did she get that high end job in the front office of the secretary of state’s office with a record of stealing $250K from a university? WTF? Way to go Illinois – Thanks for doing your job.
