Friction with the Chicago Teachers Union has been a hallmark of Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s term — often at the expense of put-out parents – Chicago Tribune*
Lightfoot has repeatedly blamed her disputes with the teachers union on electoral politics, noting CTU leaders backed her opponent in the 2019 election and have been recurring critics of her administration. She complained in a national interview that the union wants to “take over running the city government,” for instance, and told an alderman that the union will badmouth her “until I beat them again in the next election.”
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Friction? Hey Trib, it’s open warfare. Hungry children are wandering the streets. Lori is just like a male teenager! She loves to fight!
