I have whiplash from Lori’s flip from condemnation of a <100 person stay at home order protest Monday to encouraging protestors to come downtown today as long as they wear masks and practice social distancing ?! Sadly, the situation is a powder keg across the country – which epidemiological models account for the mental health impacts of 25% unemployment, no school, and breakdown of social structure? Not to downplay how serious covid can be for at risk people, but to pretend there aren’t trade offs and to scold people for wanting basic human connection is naive at best.

The only Black Lives That Matter are Blacks murdered by Whites. ☹️

Black on Black murders are never protested. ?

Treja Kelly was murdered, for testifying against her husband’s murderer. Nobody protested that. ?

Dems projecting every negative incident as “Orange Man’s fault” has been the M.O. for years. Meanwhile, measurable damage of all stripes in blue cities and states….well, not a thing.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
