Gotion is presenting sponsor of Manteno Oktoberfest – Daily Journal

Manteno resident Annette LaMore, who is a spokeswoman for the Concerned Citizens, said she was blown away that Gotion is sponsoring the Oktoberfest. “We cannot believe it,” she said. “This is a foreign entity who is affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party. Why in the world are we inviting them into our town, making them the sponsor of our biggest fundraiser of the year?”

Funny how Manteno residents have given China hundreds of millions by shopping at the Walmart there but NOW it’s a problem.

Gotion is donating $50,000 to Octoberfest/Chamber of Commerce. Previously the amount was $10,000 from Taylor Dodge. The concerns raised by Annette LaMore regarding Gotion’s sponsorship of the Oktoberfest in Manteno are rooted in the complex relationship between Chinese companies and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
