Grieving Families Urge Affluent Chicagoans To Join Fight Against Violence After 769 People Murdered In 2020 – Block Club Chicago

Rev. Michael Pfleger said that residents in the high-rent areas have more influence than those on the South and West sides of the city and could help. “The people who live down here have to get as angry as the people who live near us. The power is down here.”

“It’s the heart of this city and it’s the money of this city. It takes money to equal the playing field,” Pfleger said, adding that residents in the high-rent areas have more influence than those on the South and West sides of the city and could help.” Residents on the South and West sides of the city do have a lot of influence. Just look at the areas that carried Kim Foxx. When you vote for a soft on crime State’s Attorney because you may have a friend or relative involved in illegal activity then you are part of the… Read more »

whether you agree with Father Fleger or not, his approach is not going to be effective. Until affluent peple feel their personal self interest threatened, they will not act. Sitting on the Dan Ryan for a few hours on a Saturday is pointless, camping in a park in downtown Winnetka until you are removed might send a better message. The violence and looting in August was not condoned nor organized by any group. It still had its effect. Streeterville property has lost some of its cache. That matters more than getting on the afternoon news cast.

Father Mike is an egomaniac. It’s always about Father Mike, no matter what cause he’s trumpeting about this week. Send that guy out of town on a rail.

Does father Phagger really think people some office worker chump living in a one or two bedroom condo in River North is affluent? If so he’s only proving he’s a low IQ moron. The affluent are all down in Palm Beach by Pigster’s beachfront compound soaking up the sun while the sheep all cower in fear in their blue city prisons.

Maybe the “Reverend” Pfleger should focus on the criminals doing the shooting instead of on affluent people who aren’t pulling triggers

That would take logic and reason, something the holy rollers, liberals and socialists lack. But dont underestimate them, apparently about 50% of the population lacks it too which is why these shysters are so successful at manipulating the “sheeple”.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
