Griffin promises to bankroll a Pritzker challenger – Crain’s*

“He called me a liar,” Griffin said at Wednesday’s event. “It’s all about politics for him. It’s not about people.... I’m going to make sure that if he runs again, that I am all in to support the candidate who will beat him,” Griffin continued. "He doesn’t deserve to be the governor of our state.”

No prosecutor or investigator seems to have followed up on the most relevant issue surrounding the Pritzker Toilets. That is: was Pritzker property assessment appeal PIN 17-03-103-007-0000 accorded special treatment (non-uniform treatment) by Assessor Berrios (Dem Party Chair at the time)? It appears that the clear wording of Statute35 ILCS 200/9-180 was violated by giving a 3-year retroactive COE and accompanying tax rebate payment to a property which had not filed the appropriate forms within the 90-day window required by Statute. It would be easy to find out. Illinois Statutes require “The owner of property entitled to a diminution of… Read more »

doesn’t mention anything about the issue I raised in my comment.

also, any ideas about how to get a complaint on file with State of Il for a 3 months overdue FOIA request , when the website appears to be closed for repairs?

yes. It is within IL AG office, Public Access Counselor. Evidently they are crippled by a ransomware attack. so, I guess FOIA applicants who are ignored should just go foia ourselves. “We are sorry this section of the Illinois Attorney General’s is currently down. Notice to public body members and Open Meetings Act (OMA) designees who are required by section 1.05 of OMA (5 ILCS 120/1.05) to complete the Public Access Counselor’s (PAC) electronic training curriculum: The PAC web page is presently being repaired, therefore the OMA electronic training, as well as the Freedom of Information Act electronic training, are… Read more »

Except he doesn’t have a viable candidate to run against Pritzker…

300,000+ manufacturing jobs gone since 2000 in Illinois. 2nd highest tax-total in USA. Most violent city (Chicago) in USA. Some great stats for an election campaign rival, but no viable candidates.

Many people in Central Illinois have been upset with the state government for years now, mostly in regard to reckless fiscal issues. However with Pritzker people are becoming afraid of their state government. People see Pritzker as more of a tyrant and leader of a cult, than a Gov. for the people.

This will drive the Crapfax crowd crazy. They thought Jabba’s wealth tax was a slam dunk and then Griffin came along and spoiled their socialist party. Well here he comes again couch dwellers!

NJ and VA showed that no name Republicans can beat entrenched Democrats….Look up Ed Durr the NJ truck driver that beat the NJ Senate President by a few thousand votes, and Young-Who beat the former Gov. of VA running a second time. Republicans won races all over the places from PA to Long Island to GA…. But the issue we have here, in IL, is that Cook County and Chicago wait until the rest of the state reports all their vote totals in real time, and then, and only then, does Cook County and Chicago report their vote totals….ensuring there… Read more »

“I’m going to make sure that if he runs again, that I am all in to support the candidate who will beat him” There is the fine print. Ken isn’t going to throw money at some far right Trump supporter who can’t win the suburbs. If he’s serious then he will need to jump in funding a winning candidate during the primary. Youngkin has provided the playbook. For the GOP to win Illinois he/she will need to appeal to suburban women while not alienating the Trump base. As long as a candidate can thread that needle then I would imagine… Read more »

I hate to be the pessimistic giving off bad vibes, but a Republican Gov. would do nothing because the state legislature would assume the mantle of Covidian and pass draconian covid restrictions. The super-super majority legislature would simply override each and every one of his or her vetoes and remove all emergency executive authority.

You can probably get every high school athlete to vote against Pritzker. The question is whether they will still be angry come election time and whether they’ll show up to vote. This is where the GOP candidate can appeal to the 18-20 crowd letting them know they don’t have to uber to the pols and can do a mail in.

Griffin is absolutely a despicable oligarch and a globalist. The man makes his money front running your trades, raiding corporations and doing other shady hedge fund rentier type stuff. He is no different than the Great Vampire Squid that keeps on sucking. He recently paid $810,000 to the Democrat Federal Reserve President Janet Yellen for two zoom speeches and a couple of webinars. That was to buy influence in government at the highest levels that people like you and I cannot. His public fights with Prickster are no more than one globalist fighting another globalist over a personality conflict. One… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
