I’ve been curious about the ‘Peacekepers’ Here’s what I think I’ve learned. Illinois is going to spend $30 million dollars over the next year with ‘community organizations’ that have contracted with the state to “engage young people who live in neighborhoods that are at a high risk for violence to serve as “Peacekeepers.” For which they’ll be paid $100 per day. Unless they’re a ‘Lead Peacekeeper’ – then they get $120 a day. They’re also paid to receive job assistance training, and go to ‘peacekeeper’ classes put on by one of the community agencies the state’s also paying to ‘supervise’… Read more »

Wow, I work in the non – profit sector and it is rife with grift, but that BGA report is a STUNNER…!!!

Well, that was informative. So it turns out that this ‘peacekeeper’ community agency thing has been going on for quite a while, and the advocates can’t document much success in reducing crime-n-wilding-n-etc. Can’t, or won’t, even report on what they’ve actually been doing. Even though everyone involved agreed on metrics-n-goals-n-measurments right up front. It’s going to take more than just more police and jails to fix what the Great Society has turned places like Chicago into for ethnic minorities, and particularly for Blacks. I’d rather have more community agencies, frankly, than more guvmn’t. But they need to get a whole… Read more »

As someone in the non – profit sector, I can tell you, unfortunately, that that is the *only* metric that the government now looks at… it’s called the “Non – Profit Industrial Complex” for a *reason*, lol…

Black Lives Matter burned through 90 million and is now almost bankrupt. They spent at least 70% on administration. I doubt this grift is much different.

Illegal economic migrants bringing the very violent ways of their home countries to our city, one busload at a time. Soon the Mexican cartels will outman the Chicago Police. The voting habits of city residents and the “non-profits” suggest they want this. What a bright future.

They’re still orders of magnitude less violent than others in the city. But it’s going to be a rough several decades as our new, better organized Mexicans complete with blacks for housing, resources and territory. It’s going to be bloodbath. Bordering most hispanic neighborhoods in the city are black neighborhoods and they’ll keep expanding, block by block, displacing blacks, and it won’t be a peaceful process of gentrification, but rather, colonization.

Video on CWB is frightening – kids playing in field near Cardinal’s Mansion, suddenly sideswiped by speeding CPD SUV chasing a suspect running away.

Expect more mumbo-jumbo about “peacekeepers” when what Chicago really needs is National Guard.

I’m not a fan of all the summer festivals…

However I realize that they provide a needed economic benefit for many…

But to just roll over & give up because of a “possible” problem is so woke…

Whatever happened to the “Summer of George”…?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
