Half of Marian Catholic diversity council resigns after president bans pride flag, Black Lives Matter signs – Chicago Tribune*

Marian Catholic President Vince Krydynski said he sent out an email this summer to teachers establishing a policy for neutral classroom, meaning no flags or signs that align with identity in anyway can be put up. The examples Krydynski gave were the LGTBQ community, Black Lives Matter or blue lives matter, he said.

Why should the school be neutral? It is a Catholic school, after all. They should be preaching against homosexuality, not just being neutral. They should also be against black lives marxists.

They should not simply be neutral.

Spot on and if they need an extracurricular activity they could have a prayer vigil at an abortion mill.

They should disband the entire useless Diversity council . Think of all the money they would save on salaries for people to do nothing but be racists!

If the LGBTQ and BLM supporters feel traumatized by not being able to plant their flags, what about the non LGBQT and non BLM students being traumatized by constant exposure to flags anathema to them? What about political endorsements? Or abortion? Neutrality is the only way to go.

And what has been done with the ten million dollars or so that has been ripped off by the folks running the organization? I wish the folks who resigned had stuck around to promote neutrality, understanding and openness through teachings and organizations that don’t… Read more »

Yes, but points must be deducted for having a diversity council to begin with.

My thought as well. Not sure what they expected would come out of a “diversity” council other than, “We have to groom children in classrooms to identify with flawed narratives from every woke/liberal/progressive victim-class that we can find or invent.”

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
