Up here in Evanston there were about about a thousand protestors at the Fountain Square rally… “interestingly”, there were almost all older people, I don’t see many faces younger than about 60 here:

In the “comments” section following the article, one guy posted, “Where are the young people?”, to which I replied: “The young folks are busy working and being productive, they’ve not the time to waste to be “yelling at clouds”…

Thousands of leftists rally in favor of rampant corruption and bureaucracy.

Meanwhile, in actual news, the Democrats not poll at 20% approval. Was Mayor Cliff Notes a trailblazer in his quest for single digits?

Missing from the picture?

American flags.

Rented protestors earn an extra $10 for handmade signs. Guess the obviously mass produced signs are now passe. The handmade signs are more grass-rootsy.

Yet MSM is promoting this latest nonsense – maybe they’re in on the action?

Gotta wonder who chooses what is aired … though we already understand their agenda.

These morons. The tariffs are ALREADY WORKING. The outlandish handouts we call Social Security and Medicare MUST BE REINED IN. The border MUST BE CLOSED. Trump is succeeding on every one of these fronts and our nation is thriving because of it!!

Here is some info on Medicare costs. Notice what they spend on meds alone close to $450B. The drug companies were and are making a fortune on the meds. Up until recently the government could not negotiate drug prices but Biden changed that a little with only a few drugs but Trump brought that up in his first term. https://www.cms.gov/data-research/statistics-trends-and-reports/national-health-expenditure-data/nhe-fact-sheet How much money could have been saved by Medicare and seniors if prices had been lower for decades? The problem is that seniors on Medicare will save some money but most… Read more »

Detroiter seniors used to take bus trips to Ontario to stock up on cheap meds. Not sure if that is still a happening thing.

The drug and insurance industries need to be regulated. But this will never happen since may senators and congress people accept contributions from these companies. Not to mention the drug and insurance company lobbyists. Look at the money Sanders and Warren accepted. And they’re not alone .

No, they do not need to be “regulated”, unless you want to turn this place into Communist China or Soviet Russia.

A free market is the only way. Anything else is slavery.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
