Here’s Why Chicago’s Gun Violence In 2020 Is Probably Not A Sign Of Things To Come – WBEZ (Chicago)

Andrew Papachristos, professor of sociology at Northwestern University, said historically, “homicide and violence in the US peaks when especially young men and disenfranchised individuals are cynical [of] the government....When people don’t think the state is doing what they need to do, they settle disputes by themselves. And you had a perfect storm of that in 2020.”

So the media found the Nutty Professor to give them the talking points they want to hear. It is all mumbo jumbo ponderings and nothing more. We’ll be able to keep score every weekend when we see how many were shot and killed in Chiraq.

Papachristo needs to get out of the north shore and live a condo in the south loop for the next 9 months. He will then experience the impact of failing State’s Attorney, judicial and jail policies. It will be very hard to turn around from no consequence crime, as these incompetent politicians are all still running the low / no bail show.

I came here to bash Prof. Papachristo too. A two minute review of his twitter feed shows he’s the wokest sociology professor around. Interesting to see so much blame piled on the Dictator. He deserves it and needs to be held accountable. His failed policies, along with an epidemic of Soros-appointed criminal-loving DAs and the neutering of the police, have resulted in thousands of deaths.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
