Hockey parents want to check Pritzker on COVID-19 restrictions – Illinois Policy

More than 10,500 parents have signed a petition asking Pritzker to reconsider labeling hockey a high-risk sport for COVID-19 transmission. Youth players already have strong face shield requirements, meaning many cannot breathe on other players like basketball and football players do.

Your worried about hockey, why not sign a petition to get your kids back in school and start learning. Otherwise it’s time for layoffs in school districts since schools are entirely closed up. Next lawsuits for property tax rebates from districts

I completely agree. If I may expand a bit on your point, if the schools insist on remote education, the property tax payers need to show up at local school board meetings and demand that the tax levies be decreased. Remote education has got to save the school districts and the personnel tons of money, right?

I doubt it saves them any money. Schools need to spend additional funds on technology. Not every school system has a laptop or chromebook for each student and many districts had to up their spending in this area. I listened to the local school board meeting where they said they need to buy chrome books with larger screens for students that had issues seeing. There are all kinds of “reasonable accommodations” that are being made that increase expenses. The buildings need to be maintained. Teachers and administrators are still being paid.
