“CPD has responded to and monitored countless organized protests and marches through the Loop, especially in the years since the release of the Laquan McDonald shooting video was release, sparking outrage across the city.”

It’s disingenuous to bring up the shooting of Laquan McDonald as the motivation for the wildings behavior.

Stop providing excuses for crime and disorder!

Here’s an article from Natural News about Chicago and what happens if you tell the truth about crime.

What a garbage and misleading article. That’s not truth! Government has grounds to sue them for being idiots and saying something so stupid. You can’t make comments about neighborhoods if you’re in real estate. It’s that simple. Everyone in the industry is required to take classes for this. There’s crime everywhere.

I found more info on the case. It appears some legal eagles are making a distinction between advertising and general commentary covered by the first amendment.

Considering they made comments on the Townstone Financial show, it looks like it could be advertising. I haven’t reviewed all the facts, but it’s highly unlikely it’s a malicious or frivolous suit intended to curtail public criticism.

The suit a targeted political prosecution against conservatives hosting a conservative radio show. The first complaint was dismissed as bunk. The second complaint was dismissed again. CFPB lost in court. The CPFB is now appealing the case after losing twice. Townstone did nothing wrong. The liberal judge said the law only applies to applicants. The law is very clear, mortgage brokers cannot discriminate – which Townstone did not do. Townstone had few black (not minority, just black) applicants because they advertised on a conservative radio AM station. The CPFB brought a terrible case, knowing it was a terrible case, so… Read more »

Did they also go after them because they don’t advertise on black radio stations, or was it someone else?

It was because they didn’t process enough loans in black neighborhoods, combined with the comments about hoodlums burning the city down. That supposedly discouraged black applicants from apply with them. Even though they couldn’t show that even a single black person was discouraged from applying. The judge who ruled in the favor was a Trump judge BUT he was picked by Durkin/Duckworth, there’s a tradition that Democrats get to pick some of the federal judges in blue states with a republican president, just like republicans get to pick soem conservative judges in red states while there is a Dem prez.… Read more »

CFPB is an unconstitutional wet dream created by tyrant Elizabeth Warren that operates above and outside of the law. A totalitarian Democrat fantasy government agency. It will be dismantled. Frankly everyone of the Brownshirts employed by and associated with CFPB should be in prison.

IIRC, the law that created the CPFB said that the CPFB was not subject to congressional spending oversight. The law says that the agency was to be funded by the Fed, which creates money out of thin air, rather than congress, which controls spending. A panel of three appellate court judges ruled that this structure was unconstitutional. Once again, Democrats shredding the constitution when it suits them.

CPD needs to invest in some water cannon trucks IMO.

CPD needs to invest in some real leadership instead of affirmative action merit promoted leaders who can’t spell their own name.

Audio: Wirepoints’ Mark Glennon says Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades – Chicago’s Morning Answer

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
