House passes bill that could ban TikTok in the U.S., sending it to the Senate – NBC News

Co-authors U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, of Illinois, and U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, of Wisconsin, praised the passage of the bill in a joint statement, saying they'll work with the Senate to advance it as well. “What we’re after is a separation from TikTok from its parent company, ByteDance, and by extension CCP,” the bill’s author, Gallagher said. This is censorship – plain and simple and will open the door for the further eroding of our 1st amendment freedom of speech. It is up to parents to monitor their children on social media – This bill is really about eventually shutting out the voices of the people who you do not agree with or are threatening your agenda. This is not good. We are a Constitutional Republic.
