The combination of big money and political might gave birth to a community-based violence prevention movement that would, in just five years, spur government investment, earn praise at the White House and provide a semi-permanent infrastructure allowing for an unprecedented bet on former gang members to heal their own communities.
Sure the programs aren’t working, so we better throw more money at them. That’s basically what WBEZ is saying here. Typical.

There’s an elephant in the room of which we dare not speak, lest we be branded.
Consider the demographics as reported on HeyJackass.com and you’ll get my point. And just in the last few days, the murders in Bolingbrook.
Note to the ‘gun banners,’ rarely, and I mean RARELY do murders involve ‘assault-style weapons,’ or FOID or concealed carry card holders. Just say’n – law abiding gun owners don’t engage in wholesale murder; violent gangs and criminals do.
Why is that which is most obvious ignored? Some perverted form of political correctness?
Stupid chickens.

Guns are not violent. Gangs, on the other hand, are quite violent.
Fake News Fraud WBEZ is the best reason for defunding NPR and PBS.
