There were a total of 196,287 property crimes reported in Illinois in 2020. Adjusting for population, there were 1,559 property crimes for every 100,000 people, the 13th lowest property crime rate among states and lower than the national rate of 1,958 per 100,000 people.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
