A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

We’ve had weeks of officials at every level in Minnesota government (not to mention in Illinois and elsewhere) egging on people to “protest” immigration enforcement. And by protest they mean go out and interfere directly and physically with the already dangerous work of ICE or Border Protection officers. Hormel Foods and Cargill were among more than 60 Minnesota-based companies whose CEOs signed a letter released by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce calling for de-escalation of tensions and coordinated government action following recent unrest around the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, who fatally shot an armed protestor over the weekend.
The letter, signed by Hormel interim CEO Jeff Ettinger and Cargill Board Chair and CEO Brian Sikes, urged state, local and federal officials to work together on solutions that would allow businesses, employees and communities to regain stability. Other agribusiness signatories included CHS and Land O’Lakes.
I hope they include justice for Kate Steinle and Laken Riley too. Both killed by an illegal immigrant!
