‘I strongly denounce this hate’: Champaign mayor responds to council member’s swastika post on Facebook – WCIA (Champaign)

Council member Davion Williams changed his profile picture to the image of a swastika. The post quickly drew criticism in the comments and Williams replied, saying the swastika had been used for thousands of years prior across multiple cultures and religions to represent “good fortune, well-being, and spirituality” and symbolize “peace, prosperity, and the cyclical nature of life.”

Hello, Indiana!

He could probably avoid the headaches by claiming to be an Islamic Nazi, a small but very real contingent that existed, replete with swastika adorned Fezzes. What would be the difference between him and the Hamas that so many Americans seem to be over the moon about?

What Davion Williams says about this symbol was correct only until 1920. It was then appropriated by a corrupt, murdering socialist political party that became directly responsible for over 70 million corpses by 1945.

This is a symbol of hatred and death and is reviled by all civilized individuals. End of story.
