IL Dems seek to defend vote by mail law; Dem voters will be ‘disenfranchised’ if votes not counted 2 weeks after Election Day – Cook County Record

Saying the case could result in Democratic votes not being counted, the Democratic Party of Illinois has asked to be allowed to argue against a lawsuit brought against the state of Illinois by a group of Republicans, challenging a state elections law that allows election officials to count mail-in ballots up to 14 days after Election Day, even if the ballots aren’t postmarked.

Better yet count the votes BEFORE they are cast. This way they can call the election a week before.

Now that I have stopped laughing, is this really how a civilized nation wants to count ballots. And the best part is–“with no postmarks”. Sounds kinda’ like– “Hey,if we lose we need two weeks to see how many votes we need to steal”.

Has anyone ever seen a copy of the voter registration rolls. My younger child is an apartment dweller and received 7 mail-in ballots in the 2020 election. All were former residents in the rental unit who at one time bothered to vote.

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
